“The Black Fives” was a group of African American basketball teams that played before the racial integration of the National Basketball Association, from 1904 through 1950, a period known as the Black Fives Era. But it’s about more than just this history. We wanted to help bring the stories of the Black Fives pioneers back to life, to engage youth in ways that are relevant today and to honor those forebears!⠀ ⠀ We’ve set up a pop-up shop & exhibition @ReedSpace to help tell the story of the @blackfives. We also worked with our friends at some of the best boutiques around (Hall of Fame-LA, Major-DC, Shop412-Pittsburgh , Leaders-Chicago, Packer-NJ, Villa-Philly and of course ReedSpace representing NY!) to showcase their take on their local teams. Come by & check out the entire collection we did with the help of @47Brand.⠀ #MakeHistoryNow #47BLACKFIVES #dontsleep
