Archives Get Their Own Logo

By Black Fives Foundation On July 25, 2016 · Add Comment · In Artifacts, Culture, Exhibition, History, Mission, Recognition

BFF Archives Logo

The new logo ties graphically into the foundation’s overall mission through the vintage ball held by one of the five players in the original Black Fives brand logo.

We are excited to unveil our new logo for the Black Fives Foundation Archives, a leading collection of artifacts, ephemera, objects, photographs, and other materials relating to the history of African Americans in basketball prior to the NBA.

Our goal with this new logo, which was developed internally, is to give the archives their own identity and their own focus within the overall mission of the foundation.

The graphic is a close-up of the vintage ball held by one of the five players in the original Black Fives brand logo.

This represents the fact that the archives not only contain historically important objects and items but also illuminate the pivotal social and cultural history of the period.

The color scheme symbolizes that this important history was not just strictly black and white; there were some gray areas to it.

We will be using this logo anytime the archives or its historical artifacts are featured, along with a new hashtag, #b5archives.
